«Communication»

Head: Prof. Dr. Sarah Owens | Assistant: Patrik Ferrarrelli

The subject area Communication expands students’ design expertise to include thematic and research competence. Students work in an exploratory, future-oriented fashion and strive to acquire new knowledge, methods and aesthetics. The individualized approach allows each student to gain new skills in related areas (e.g. art, media, or social sciences) or new technologies. Our interdisciplinary working practices allow students to profit from a range of internal and external networks. Graduates from our specialization can therefore quickly integrate seamlessly into a rapidly changing working world. They work in leadership positions in creative industries, found their own organizations or follow academic careers.

The Masters degree is structured around three focal areas: Identity& Brand, Information Design and Editorial Design. These emphasize the conception of new communications strategies, the design of new forms of visualization and the narration and dissemination of current and complex content.
