Appropriation processes and their potentials
In this project, processes are researched in which art and design professionals strategically appropriate images. The thesis is about the appropriation of the object «image». Visual material which artists and designers have strategically appropriated, is examined by means of semiotics.
The resulting artifact, a catalogue, visualises this form of appropriation. The aim of this catalogue is to show the potential that lies in this appropriation process.
