Poetic Lenses — An Exploration of Architectural Representation
There is a disconnect between the architectural spaces we inhabit and the ones that the media portrays. Furthermore, film as art shows us the power of visual poetry to tell stories, to evoke emotions or to inspire us. How can we link back architecture to its poetic foundations, beyond its merely formalistic representation?
Based on two case studies, this project explores the cinematics of space through a virtual reality experience. Light, materiality, color, sound, and movement drive these experiments to integrate cinematography in the visualisation of architecture. The result is a collection of poetic and embodied images that reveal the multifaceted soul of architecture, thus allowing an audience of architects and non-architects to dissect the multidimensional foundation of space.
