How can digitalism a more sustainable production flow in textile sportswear?
Production processes in the textile industry are too complex to implement significant changes in terms of sustainability, so the process needs to be completely rethought. This paper explores the contribution digital design can make to more sustainable production processes in the textile industry, focusing on performance-oriented sports. Topics such as body scanning, 3D design, product personalization and on-demand production are examined. The evaluation of the data makes it clear
that a digital 3D design process and data-based manufacturing based on it, represent a possible solution approach. The findings come together in an optimized production process. A user journey map shows how users can be integrated into the development process with the help of an app.
