Chillaxing Game Design
How can game developers achieve a relaxing game experience and/or relaxing effect for the players through their games?
In my thesis I dealt with this research question by analyzing various games, considering a variety of theoretical literature, carrying out surveys with video players, trying out various relaxation methods and incorporating my experience as a game developer.
A self-designed toolbox, which contains rules and methods, helps the game developers in the production process to create video games with a relaxing effect and/or relaxing gaming experience. In addition, I show in my self-developed video game «OmoTomO» how relaxation can be created for the players.
