Cross-Plattform Online-Multiplayer

Nowadays, there are many platforms that allow online gaming. Online games that offer a cross-platform online multiplayer mode rarely exist.

This master thesis does research in finding the technical requirements for cross-platform online multiplayer and how to implement it. The basis for the research is the analysis of multiplayer games from the last 70 years. The goal of this analysis is to understand why there have been very few cross-platform online multiplayer games in the past.

The result of this thesis is a high-level catalogue of technical requirements for implementing an asynchronous cross-platform online multiplayer architecture, and an implementation of a such architecture. The architecture contains an asynchronous game and the corresponding server application is based on microservices.
