“Futbolization“
Argentine society sees itself reflected in football and has built its idiosyncrasy around it, shaping its way of perceiving the world, of expressing themselves, of believing and feeling.
The following work is the result of the author's self-reflexive and ethnographic research in the city of Buenos Aires, where the most famous sport in the world represents not only a mere sport, but a complex socio-cultural phenomenon, which has become a generator of collective identities and subjectivities.
Through a social and visual approach this work breaks down this specific phenomenon, exposes its political and religious facets, and shows how they intertwine through different symbolic representations in the chaotic expression of everyday life from Buenos Aires.
