Typography is – Positions for knowledge transfer with typography in book design
Typography in books is a dialog tool. It connects people by conveying knowledge. However, reading and learning are challenging; consequently, content must not only be physically available, but also intellectually accessible. How did the current form of typography come about? What aspects influence the perception of typography? And how can macro typography in particular support this communication in technical and nonfiction books?
To get answers, reading, learning, and design patterns in books were examined, collected, and reflected upon. By linking them, the work provides impulses for a typography in books that serves readers, semantics, and zeitgeist.
