A [subjective] exploration of the creative process
What inspires me and how do I deal with inspiration? Where do I find inspiration in a globalised world?
Based on historical textile pattern books, experimental approaches to creative processes were developed. First, I dealt with associations of various people; second, I juxtaposed the pattern books with my own archive of quaint photos. I focused on today’s research on creativity, the creative process and artistic archival work.
Through this work I realized how important it is to break up habitual patterns and give creativity enough space and time to allow the unexpected to take place. Associations have a lot of potential in the creative process, they help to perceive inspiration in a new way and to open new lines of thinking and visual spaces.
